This is a very nicely written book. As someone who was new to the jQuery library, it was a comprehensive read without getting bogged down, or being treated like a dummy. The examples made sense and just about all worked. The book errata cleared up a couple of issues. The early chapter covers the basics of selectors and js, though a js beginner would be better off with more practical experience. The labs set up with the book code worked really well, and allowed a real feel for the power of jQuery. It was also a good testing platform to make changes to test knowledge. Really I wanted to give 4.5 for subject depth not 4, but absolutely recommend it for someone new to jQuery.
